Chook chat
What is Chook Chat?
Chook Chat is the outcome of a Year 6 Project Based Learning experience where students designed a chicken coop, known as The Chick Inn, that would house 5 chickens and be used by the school in learning and wellbeing approaches.
The aim of Chook Chat is to ultimately build a student’s sense of connection to their school. As the concept started with project-based learning, utilising student voice in the design of the coop, the program is sustained through student participation with limitless opportunities to engage in hands-on learning about chickens, living things, cooking with eggs, and community engagement.

Meet our chickens!
Although ‘Chook Chat’ is a daily interest group that provides specific students with an opportunity to care for and work with chickens, all classes are welcome to visit the coop for outdoor learning activities.
